We decided to add a puppy to our family in the fall of 2019, and really were focused at first on getting a rescue dog. For 3 months, we applied and tried to get a dog that would be a good fit for our lifestyle and home, and just kept striking out for various reasons. We also spoke to a French Bulldog breeder who was just impossible to get a commitment from on whether she would have a dog for us or not, and had become very discouraged. In January 2020, we spoke to Laurel at Kaigan Kennels, who we were referred to by a friend, and it was just a breath of fresh air. She was open, transparent and understanding about the constraints of a working couple who wanted to add a puppy to their lives. She had a litter that would be ready on our timeline, and with a simple deposit, she was able to commit to having one for us. As we got closer, we talked about training, and frankly our nervousness about those first few weeks of sleep/potty training. She offered us a resource in her colleague Kim Matson, who trains and shows dogs with Laurel regularly. Kim was able to take the puppy for 2 weeks after she left the litter and get her used to sleeping in her bed, going potty outside, and playing with their 2 large dogs and small kids. We picked up our sweet girl Rosie at about 14 weeks old, and she has been an amazing addition to our family. She is playful, loving, social, and has a hilarious personality now at 7 months old. She is super healthy, and has no issues from her breeding. We have been so blessed to have found Laurel and Kim, and would recommend them to anyone who wants an adorable Frenchie to add to their family!

Millie
I had been looking for a Border collie since I lost mine two years ago. After researching breeders and adoption sites, I found Kaigan Kennels. Laurel was wonderful to work with. She answered every question I had, and was there every step of the way. Millie is now six months and has been a gem. She gets along with her housemate beautifully. She is a healthy and happy puppy with a wonderful demeanor. I am so happy to have her and am very happy to have found Kaigan Kennels. I guarantee I will be back.

Gus and Frankie
I got Gus from you two years ago, and Frankie, last April. Although it took them a few weeks to really get used to each other (and for me to get used to having two dogs at once), they've grown to adore each other. They are the lights of my life!! They both have such different personalities, it's amazing to watch and they bring me and everyone around them so many smiles! If I had the room I would surely have an entire pack of frenchies. Thank you for raising such awesome dogs with the best temperaments! I can't imagine my life without them.

My husband and I were looking to add another member to our family when we came across Kaigan Kennels. From the very start, Laurel was responsive and patient. She made sure that all our questions were answered and that we were comfortable with everything. I especially love the weekly videos she provided which allowed us to watch our new puppy, Wilma, grow from the day she was born. When we finally got out to visit Kaigan Kennels, it was clear how much they care for the animals they raise. She even provided us with a little gift to take home for Wilma which included toys, a bag of food, a new bed, as well as a leash and collar. We highly recommend Kaigan Kennels to anyone looking for a reputable breeder.

It is almost River's 1st birthday and boy what a year it has been! Last March we drove from Washington DC out to Stephens City, VA (which is nestled in the stunning Shenandoah Valley) to visit a litter of Australian Shepherd puppies. Turning onto the Kaigan Kennel farm we were greeted by beautiful Border Collies, Aussies, English Bulldogs and Frenchies alike! Laurel was extremely knowledgeable and patient with us as we asked all of our first-time-dog-parent questions and let us play with the litter at our leisure. We chose River that day and picked her up 3-weeks later. Fast forward to today to the most social, cuddly and sweet puppy. River loves chewing on pig ears, long-lasting belly rubs and bouncing like a bunny to greet us each day as we get home from work. Her natural high-energy temperament is mirrored by frequent daily naps on the cold bathroom tiles, snuggly mornings waiting patiently for us to take her out, and unlimited face kisses for absolutely no reason! Her wiggly booty is now our favorite thing on this planet and we couldn't imagine this year or the years to come without her and the joy she has brought us.

We are so grateful to have found Kaigan Kennels -- it was priority for us to work with a conscientious breeder when looking for a French Bulldog to join our family, and it was clear from the get-go that Laurel and Frank are devoted to their dogs' well-being. During our first (nearly hour long!) phone call, Laurel made it clear that she has high standards for the health of her dogs, as well as for the homes she places them in, and she was a font of information and advice for us as new pet owners. She kept in touch with us for nearly a year before we brought home our puppy, Rufio, who (even if we are a little biased!) is an exceptionally handsome, healthy, smart, and sweet-tempered Frenchie -- and we are comforted to know we can reach Laurel directly anytime with questions. We love our little guy to pieces and can't thank Kaigan's enough for raising such a perfect pup!

I began looking for a French Bulldog puppy via the AKC website. It was important to find a reputable breeder and that is how we found Kaigan Kennels. Laurel was incredibly responsive in all our communications and welcomed a visit from us to her Kennels before we made our final decision. We were very impressed with everything and felt this was a great choice. While we waited for our puppy, Laurel continued to answer questions and we loved how she posted videos each week of the litter. The day we picked our puppy up, Laurel made certain to provide us with the appropriate paperwork and goody bag along with instructions to help ease our puppy's transition to our home. Our puppy is such a happy, healthy girl and we are so happy to have found her and Kaigan Kennels. We share the same vet and he even commented on what high quality puppies Kaigan Kennels has. We also know we can continue to stay in touch with any questions about her. Such a professional breeder who obviously loves her dogs! We are so happy that we found Laurel and got this lovely puppy!!

Harley
We got our little girl Harley in October 2016. We put our deposit down in August when she was just a couple weeks old. Since we couldn't bring her home right away Kaigan Kennels would send weekly videos of her. Those videos were the best part of the week for us, until we could bring her home. When the time came to pick her up it was an easy process. We live within a few hours of Kaigan Kennels so we were able see where she spent the first weeks of her life and could tell she was loved and well cared for. Harley has been with us for a little over two years. She is healthy, happy and spoiled! Due to Kaigan Kennel's meticulous breeding standards we have the perfect 17lb frenchie. When it is time to add another puppy to the family, we will not look anywhere else!!

"Yogi Bear" is the happiest, smartest & healthiest Aussie we have ever had. Kaigan Kennels is the best! Beautiful brand new kennels, wonderful mountain country setting and they truly care and love their pups. Laurel was careful in screening to be sure we could give Yogi a great life.

I highly recommend Kaigan Kennels, they are a wonderful breeder and kennel who take great pride and dedication to the breeding of their treasured pups! I am the proud fur mama to "Stella" who is a female brindle french bulldog lovingly bred by Laurel at Kaigan Kennels. Stella is ultimately in my opinion the perfect french bulldog. Her temperament, breeding and overall being is remarkable and she is a certified service dog for my son. If you want quality in any of the breeds that Laurel specializes in, you will not be disappointed!

This is my bully family, we went to Kaigan kennels 7 years ago to look for an English bulldog, and we brought home Jethro! He is the most loving, sweet-tempered boy and was the start of a wonderful life with what would be a new-found love for the breed. Jethro belongs to my son. So I decided to get one for myself. A month later I decided he needed a brother to keep him company. Well to make a long story short I now have 2 English, and 4 Frenchies. Yep, I'm crazy in love with them all! They are all from Kaigan's. I would not go anywhere else. Laurel is the most loving, caring person and her dogs show it. She puts a lot hands-on time with her dogs. I couldn't be happier to be a part of the Kaigan family.

I highly recommend Kaigan Kennels and Laurel Copeland. After much research, I knew instantly the moment we spoke on the phone how passionate and loving she was about her business of ethical breeding. I had many questions at the beginning and Laurel always answered me in a timely fashion. I trusted her and her knowledge of bulldogs.
